STAFFORD, VA — Rising 2027 running back Jaelyn Cox is starting to turn heads in Virginia, and after a strong showing at the Spotlight 39 Pro Day Camp, the 5’7”, 170-pound standout from Brooke Point High School is locked in on taking his game to the next level.

“I honestly loved the camp,” Cox said of the experience. “It was a great experience; I met a lot of guys and coaches that taught me things that I can add to my life on and off the field.”

Cox, who carries a 3.8 GPA in the classroom, made the most of his opportunity during the camp's competitive drills, especially the 1-on-1 reps.

“The biggest standout moment during the camp was during 1v1s,” he explained. “On every rep the coaches there were coaching me up, telling me things I could’ve did better and can change the next time I went, whether I won the rep or not.”

Coming off previous seasons impacted by injuries, Cox is dialed in on getting stronger and sharpening his fundamentals this offseason.

“My main focuses this offseason is strengthening my weaker muscles and mechanics,” he said. “Perfecting my craft and strengthening my body will help me strive in ways I couldn’t before.”

Cox has a full schedule ahead as he looks to gain even more exposure, with camps at West Virginia, Norfolk State, and Junior Day Football in Henrico, VA, lined up before the fall.

But it’s not just about the individual accolades—though he has some big goals in that department.

“Some of my personal goals for this upcoming season is to become First-Team All-District on both sides of the ball, and hit 1,500 all-purpose yards,” Cox said. “My team goals are to create a bond with my teammates and coaches to where we are always on the same page, and play as a team throughout the entire season.”

With his mindset, work ethic, and natural talent, Jaelyn Cox is definitely a name to watch in Virginia’s 2027 class.
